Charles L. Groth SANDUSKY - Charles L. Groth, age 76, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky, Michigan. Mr. Groth had lived in Sandusky the past 58 years and was previously from the Chicago, IL area. He was born August 22, 1930 in Springfield, Illinois, son to the late Louis and Alma (Heiden) Groth. He graduated from Waupaca High School 1948 in Wisconsin. He married Shirley Buchkowski July 18, 1953 in Sandusky. Mr. Groth worked has a Machinist for Yale Rubber Corp. for 45 years, retiring in 1995. He was longtime member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Sandusky, where he was Church Treasurer, officer and also sang the Choir. Charles enjoyed gardening, camping and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley; Cheryl and Richard Wilfong (daughter) of Emmett, MI; Gary and Pam Groth (son) of Manning, SC; Tony and Nina Groth (son) of Carsonville, MI; Sheila and Steve Scott (daughter) of Madisonville, TN; Dwight and Cheryl Groth (brother) of Wheaten, IL; Richard and Marilyn Groth (brother) of Naperville, IL; Geraldine (Jerry) Dobek (sister) of Bayonet Point, FL; five grandchildren, Kristen, Tim, Jodi, Mike and Andy; and great-grandson, Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Sandusky, with the Rev. Richard Tino officiating. Cremation will follow the service at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, with burial of cremains in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may donated to the Peace Lutheran Church in Sandusky. Visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Sandusky on Sunday 1-9 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
