EFFINGHAM MAN'S
DISAPPEARANCE IS
SOLVED BY LETTER

Effingham - Mystery of the did-
appearance of Frank Arbuckle
from Effingham six years ago was
cleared up Tuesday when his
brother, Neal Arbuckle of this city,
received a letter from him. The
letter came from Germany.
Frank left Effingham to take a
position with a bridge company in
Cairo. After several months had
passed and no word had been re-
ceived from him, relatives wrote to
the Cairo company and learned
that Frank had never been there.
Several months later a postcard
was received from Frank by his
family. It had been mailed in In-
dianapolis and stated he was going
father east. It was believed he
had gone to Germany as he often
expressed his desire to go to Eu-
rope as he liked it much better
than America. He had served in
the A. E. F. and said he would re-
turn there if he ever had the
chance.
