Arthur W. Carswell Jr.
Arthur W. Carswell, Jr., 83, of Belvidere, NJ, a resident of the Care Center of Brakeley Park, Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ. Born: March 21, 1930 in Basking Ridge, NJ, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Anna May (Allen) Carswell. Personal: Arthur had lived in Independence Township, NJ before moving to Belvidere in 1985. Arthur had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He had worked for New Jersey Power & Light Company for over 33 years before retiring. Arthur was a former Cubmaster of Pack 151 and an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 151, both of Hackettstown. Memberships: Arthur was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington where he had served as a deacon. Survivors: Surviving are his wife, Doris M. Newfang Carswell; a son, David A. Carswell and his wife Kim A.; two daughters, Linda A. Lotito and her husband Michael J., and Judith M. Stull and her husband John A.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Smith and Frances Liddy. Online condolences may be sent to www.MacFaddenFuneralHome.com. Services: A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Washington, 40 East Church Street, Washington, NJ, under the direction of MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
